File Saving Info

Quark XPress 4.1 or higher – Mac

  1. Document size should be the finished size.
  2. Include bleed 0.125″ beyond the document edges.
  3. Linked Photoshop files must be “cmyk, or grayscale mode” in “tif” format @ 300 dpi resolution. Duotone mode files must be in “dcs” or “eps” format @ “300 dpi” resolution.
  4. Linked Illustrator files must have fonts “converted to outlines” and must be saved as “eps” format. Make sure that colors are as per your requirements (i.e. cmyk, pms or grayscale).
  5. Do not trust document trapping to “default” when type elements overlap or are in front of graphic elements. Under the “View” menu, select “show trap information”. Select text and change setting from “default/ .144″ to either “knockout” or “overprint” as needed to achieve desired effect.
  6. All solid black graphics or text (over 72 pt only) must be “rich black”. The cmyk settings should be “c-60,
    m-40, y-00, k-100″.
  7. Under File menu select “collect for output”. Save it in a different folder specified for press on zip media, or burn a cd. (This will include your original document & all linked files) Copy all fonts you have used in your document and put them in the same folder.To check fonts used in the document, go to “Utilities” menu and click on “Usage”.
  8. If you want to send through our website, zip or stuff all files and folders and upload just one file.

Pagemaker 6.5 or higher – Mac

  1. Document size should be the finished size.
  2. Include bleed 0.125″ beyond the document edges.

Illustrator 8.0 or higher – Mac

  1. Document size should be the finished size.

  5. Linked Illustrator files must have fonts “converted to outlines” and must be saved as “eps” format. Make sure that colors are as per your requirements (i.e. cmyk, pms or grayscale).
